The Earth Mother
She is breathtaking in her completeness
Bountiful and ever ready to provide
She knows what we need, before we even ask
She is the Earth-Mother, and we have forsaken her
She never asked for anything in return, not once
For the life-giving water and food of sustenance she gave away
With a generous hand she doled out, for her generosity knew no bounds
An apology to the Earth-Mother, for granted we have taken her
Back in the day, she was in her full glory
Robed in her finery of lush greens she stood, dappled in sun rays
Stripped of her attire, her assets strewn on the floor,
The Earth-Mother is vengeful, I am afraid, we'll meet or ends soon
The sky may come crashing down upon us
Or of a parched throat or a bottomless stomach
Or scorched by the rays of the ever dazzling sun
We may die, all this meted out as judgement upon us
By the Earth-Mother, once benevolent, now withdrawing every boon
She is breathtaking in her completeness
She is cold as stone, never letting her guard down
Learnt her lesson the hard way, Our fault
She is the Earth-Mother, and she has forsaken us
